Hakomi
is a body-centered methodology that, for over 20 years, has
proven its effectiveness in a myriad of settings and contexts.
The Hakomi Method is successfully employed by psychologists,
clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists and allied
health workers. The
Method is also utilized in settings involving pastoral
counseling, coaching, somatic counseling, and in educational
environments. The
Hakomi Institute was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1981.
The seeds of the original method were created
by the nationally
renowned psychotherapist, Ron
Kurtz, and further
developed and adapted for diverse educational and therapeutic
populations and professional
trainings by an international core of therapists and educators.
The Institute and its partners now offer Professional Trainings
throughout the United States, Europe, the Pacific Rim, Australia
and New Zealand. The
Hakomi Institute of San Francisco offers a variety of services
